TITLE: Not In The Mood
YEAR: 2025
INSPIRATION: This painting is inspired by a Bornean Orangutan I saw at Jungle Park in Las Águilas. He shared his space with a troop of gibbons who swung around prodding him and flying off like mischievous children. He didn’t react to the chaos, he simply existed in, choosing not to engage. He sat quietly, looking more like a long suffering parent than a playmate. His eyes conveyed a quiet strength, filled with calm and weariness. That moment stayed with me and I felt compelled to capture his emotional retreat and peaceful resistance. Sometimes we’re simply not in the mood, and that too deserves to be seen.
