TITLE: Sneaky Sentry
YEAR: 2025
INSPIRATION: Who doesn’t love meerkats? These social animals are naturally curious and live in cooperative groups where each member plays a role. One of their most iconic behaviours is standing upright as a sentry, scanning for predators and alerting the group with high pitched calls. When we visited Jungle Park Tenerife, it was fascinating to see this in action. As the group scampered around, one cheeky meerkat kept popping into view, watching us as closely as we watched them. I couldn’t resist capturing that sneaky moment in paint.
