INSPIRATION: This painting was inspired by a beautiful Galah I saw at Hoo Zoo, and I honestly don’t think I’ve ever seen such a fancy bird! Its beautiful pink chest and crest immediately caught my attention, I’ve never seen colouring quite like it before. There was something about the way it perched so confidently on the branch that made it look as though it knew exactly how fabulous it was, almost as if it was posing just waiting to be admired. I loved the contrast between the delicate pink feathers and its more understated grey colouring, it really makes this bird stand out. It’s hard not to smile when you come across a bird this pretty.
