INSPIRATION: When I spotted this chunky little Ringed Teal, I was immediately drawn to the beautiful colours and textures of his feathers and knew I had to paint him. I loved the way he was sitting with his head resting on his chest, giving him an undeniably cute and slightly sleepy expression. There was something about his shape, colouring and relaxed little pose that made him impossible to ignore. I wanted to capture that quiet moment while really bringing out the rich colours and textures that had caught my eye in the first place.
