Wild Lives brings together expressive mixed media and oil portraits inspired by my own reference photography and real encounters with animals in conservation focused zoos across the UK and Europe.
The exhibition celebrates the beauty, character and vulnerability of wildlife. Through bold colour, layered textures and energetic mark making, the work highlights endangered species, working animals and those often overlooked, inviting visitors to pause, connect and reflect on the animals we share our world with.
This exhibition marks a significant moment in my artistic journey, and I’m proud to be sharing it in a gallery that plays such an important role in Oldham’s cultural life.
Previous Exhibitions & Events
Group Exhibitions
Group exhibitions have played an important role in my journey, allowing me to exhibit alongside other artists and contribute to creative spaces across the UK. These shows have helped me grow, experiment and reach people who might not otherwise have encountered my work. Below is a selection of the group exhibitions I’ve taken part in.
Wild Reflections – 2026
Wild Reflections, shown at The Market Gallery in Ashton, brought together a vibrant collection of wildlife portraits that focused on the character and individuality of each animal. Many of the pieces were inspired by my own reference photos taken in conservation focused zoos across the UK and Europe, allowing me to capture moments of personality that often go unnoticed. The exhibition highlighted endangered species, working animals and those frequently overlooked, using bright colour and bold layouts to encourage visitors to pause, reflect and connect with the animals we share our world with.
Untamed Art – 2025
Untamed Art brought together some of my most expressive and energetic pieces. Shown at The Pop Up in Stockport, the exhibition explored the individuality and spirit of each animal through bold colour, layered textures and a more confident, intuitive way of working. Many of the portraits were developed from my own reference photography taken in conservation‑focused zoos, deepening the connection I felt to each subject and strengthening the message behind the work.
Wildlife Unleashed – 2024
Wildlife Unleashed marked a shift towards more movement, emotion and atmosphere in my paintings. Exhibited at The Pop Up in Stockport, the show combined mixed media and oils to highlight the strength, fragility and character of the animals I’ve encountered in conservation focused zoos. It built on the foundations of my earlier work while pushing my colour palette and techniques in new directions, allowing the animals’ personalities to come through more clearly.
Wild Encounters – 2023
Wild Encounter was my debut solo exhibition at The Pop Up in Stockport and the starting point for my ongoing exploration of expressive wildlife portraiture. Featuring early works from my Colour Pop, Colour Splash and Colour Oils collections, the show introduced my approach to portraying endangered and often overlooked species. Many of the pieces were inspired by real encounters in conservation focused zoos, which continue to shape the way I connect with and depict each animal.
Art Fairs
Art fairs have given me the chance to share my work with new audiences, connect with other makers and be part of some brilliant creative communities. Here are a few of the fairs I’ve been involved with in recent years.
The Great Waddle Of Worcester – 2024
In 2024 I was commissioned by St Richards Hospice to paint a penguin sculpture for their The Great Waddle Of Worcester art trail. My sculpture, Starlit Journey, was sponsored by Sanctuary and when the trail finished it was sold at auction for £11,000 with all the money going to their charity.
March Of The Elephants – 2024
In 2024 I was commissioned by St Giles Hospice to paint an elephant sculpture for their March Of The Elephants art trail in Litchfield. My sculpture, Cheesy Does It, was sponsored by The Deli Social and when the trail finished it was sold at auction for £2,200 with all the money going to their charity.
The Great Frogtastic Inventions Trail – 2023
In 2023 I was commissioned by Stockport Bid to paint a frog sculpture for their The Great Frogtastic Inventions art trail in Stockport. My sculpture, Spoke, was sponsored by Stockport Council and when the trail finished it was sold at auction for £530 with all the money going to Beacon Counselling charity.
