TITLE: All Eyes On Me!
YEAR: 2026
INSPIRATION: This painting was inspired by a magnificent peacock I saw at Blackpool Zoo, displaying his feathers in all their glory. I’m always completely in awe when I see a peacock doing this, those incredible eye-like patterns are impossible to ignore. Although the display can make a peacock appear larger when faced with a potential threat, it’s primarily used to attract a mate, with the peahen deciding whether she likes what she sees. I wanted to do this beautiful bird justice, so rather than simply using my usual pop art style, I decided to create a stained glass effect, allowing each individual feather and its mesmerising pattern to stand out. There was no missing him when those feathers were on full display… he certainly knew how to make sure all eyes were on him.
