INSPIRATION: I find birds absolutely fascinating, the colours of their feathers are sometimes so vibrant and bold that it’s hard to believe it’s real. I saw a few macaws while at Blackpool Zoo but one stood out a mile, he perched on a branch and looked right out at us. He had such wonderful colours that I knew I was going to paint him, however I also knew I was going to give him an unexpected accessory. I recently read that macaws like to listen to music with their preference being for classical music, so I opted to give this parrot some head phones and leave him to it.
