INSPIRATION: This painting was inspired by a sleepy little group of potoroos I met at Blackpool Zoo. They looked like they’d just woken up… messy fur, sleepy eyes and the kind of expressions. I was instantly charmed and knew I had to capture the moment. One of them perched so sweetly, looking both confused and curious, and that photo became the heart of this piece. Naturally, I added a few cosy accessories to make them extra comfortable, now it looks like they’re peeking out to assess the situation… sorry for the disturbance! It’s a celebration of quiet charm, gentle creatures and the joy of unexpected encounters.
