TITLE: Well I Never!
YEAR: 2025
INSPIRATION: This painting was inspired by a feeding experience at Hoo Zoo, which was quite honestly one of the best things I’ve ever done. The lemurs were incredibly gentle and delicate as they walked all over us, each one full of charm. I took plenty of reference photos, but the standout moment was a baby lemur perched on my hand… mouth open in what looked like shock or awe, I’m still not sure which. It was the cutest thing ever and I knew I had to paint it. This piece captures that fleeting moment of connection, the wide-eyed wonder of a baby lemur and the joy of being close to such beautiful animals. I would have taken it home with me if I could… but this painting is the next best thing.
