TITLE: Lions & Tigers & Bears
YEAR: 2022
INSPIRATION: With my stackable animal series I aim to let my love of animals shine through using quirky fun designs and promoting species that need supporting. This painting celebrates well…lions, and tigers and bears, specifically pandas. You don’t often think of them as being part of the bear family but they are, and up until recently they were in danger of extinction. However their numbers have increased and they’re now classified as vulnerable…brilliant news! This painting started out as a way of honouring the cutest clumsy animal you’ll ever see, the panda. I wanted to show this bear as a true hero by having him support two other species who are in need of help. I decided to keep this design relatively simple which allows the bold colours and the animals cheeky faces to speak for themselves. I hope people will see that when hard work pays off then the success of one animals journey can have a positive impact on the conservation of others. It shows that we must persevere and keep going. Oh my!
