TITLE: Resting Chicken Face

INSPIRATION: When I visited a local farm, I met a stunning chicken who caught my eye straight away… vibrant eyes, lively personality, and a stare that said, “I’m watching you.” I couldn’t resist painting her. I’m still fairly new to oils, but I think I’ve captured her judgmental little gaze quite well. She’s got a bold, lively aura, and I chose a vivid blue background to really let her personality shine. Her eyes are the star of the show, that penetrating stare feels like she’s looking right through you. This piece is a celebration of chickens. They’re full of character and charm, and this one had it in spades. I wanted to show that even the most familiar animals have something special about them. It’s a reminder that nature is beautiful, expressive and worth protecting… even when it’s giving you side-eye from across the yard.
